I by IMD guidelines for contributors
If you would like to submit an article proposal to I by IMD magazine or online, weβd love to hear from you. Please note, we only review formal proposals that follow the guidelines set out below. We are unable to accept or review full article drafts without approving an initial proposal. All proposals should be sent to [email protected]. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
1. Before contacting us, please take some time to familiarize yourself with our publication and/or platform to ensure compatibility of content.
2. Next, prepare and send a short submission proposal of no more than 500 words to [email protected]. This should include the following:
a. A summary of your idea and supporting evidence/examples
b. An outline of the structure of the proposed article, including ballpark word count
c. Explain how the idea meets our four editorial criteria:
i. Is it rigorous? Is it founded in and supported by original research and/or practice?
ii. Is it relevant? Does it address a challenge that matters in todayβs business climate?
iii. Is it insightful? Does it advance the conversation in its field?
iv. Is it actionable? Can it be applied in the real world of business?
3. Please tell us if your article or research has been published elsewhere.
4. Include a short biography (50 words) for each author (word counts for bios not included in article proposal).
Please declare any financial or other possible conflicts of interests related to your article.
Please do not use AI as the source for creating your article idea, nor for the task of writing your article or proposal. We favor human expertise, based on human experiences, and unique human voices – and so do our readers. If you have used AI beyond the broadly accepted role of a sparring partner, basic editorial support, or desk research, please tell us how.
Once our team has reviewed your proposal, we will endeavor to respond in a timely manner. We are unable to guarantee publication in either the magazine or on our digital platform.
